Penn State Brandywine opened in 1967 and is one of 20 Penn State Commonwealth Campuses (and 24 total locations) across the state. It is located at 25 Yearsley Mill Road in Media.
LOCATION: Located in Media, Penn State Brandywine is Philadelphia's "next-door" neighbor. The 112 acres of parklike grounds lie just 20 miles west of the center of the city. The campus is easily accessible from I-95 and I-476 (the Blue Route) and via SEPTA public transportation.
ACADEMICS: Four-year baccalaureate degree programs are offered in: American Studies; Biology; Business; Communication Arts and Sciences; Communications; Computer Science; Cybersecurity Analytics and Operations; Engineering; English; Human Development and Family Studies; Information Technology; Multidisciplinary Studies; Project and Supply Chain Management, and Psychology. The campus also offers the first two years of study in most of the over 275 baccalaureate degree programs available throughout the University. Three associate degree programs (Business Administration, Human Development and Family Studies, and Multidisciplinary Studies) also are available. Internships, undergraduate research, and international study programs are available to students.
ENROLLMENT: When it opened in 1967, the campus enrolled 236 students. It had 11 faculty members and 600 volumes in its library. Today, 1,400 students are enrolled at the campus and are served by 132 faculty members and a library containing more than 50,000 volumes. In addition, several thousand residents are served annually through Continuing and Professional Education outreach programs that meet at the campus and at other facilities throughout the region.
CAMPUS HOUSING: Orchard Hall provides on-campus housing for 250 students and opened in August 2017.
