Join a vibrant global community at Penn State
International students are vital contributors to campus life at Penn State Brandywine and are involved in many campus clubs and organizations. Because of our proximity to Philadelphia and our many immigrant and international students, our campus is one of the most diverse in the Penn State system. Our small size allows students to form close relationships with professors and each other, and our beautiful suburban location allows for frequent cultural and career-building experiences in Philadelphia and easy access to the cities of New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C.
Penn State Brandywine’s Office of Multilingual and International Student Programs assists F-1 visa holders with necessary paperwork and organizes frequent trips and events. Recent trips have included New York City; Washington, D.C.; Linvilla Orchards in Media, PA; a Philadelphia food tour; and the Christmas lights at Longwood Gardens.
In addition, our campus’ successful Multilingual Student Course Cluster provides mainstream college-level courses that allow international and multilingual students to build their academic English skills and form a vibrant community. Penn State Brandywine also offers a unique one-credit, half-semester course for first-semester international students that immediately engages students in campus life. One-on-one tutorials in writing or study skills and small group tutorials in mathematics are very popular and available to all full-time students at no extra charge.
